CVSSP seminars
The CVSSP runs a series of internal seminars to facilitate exchange of research results, and give postgraduate students an opportunity to practice presenting their research. Practice is the best way to learn this skill, so everyone is given the opportunity to present some aspect of their research at some point each the year. These talks take a variety of forms including short introductions, transfer presentations, conference rehearsals and PhD seminars. Being able to present your work to fellow scientists and engineers (and to the general public), developing the ability to comprehend complex material and asking effective questions are an important part of PhD training. Our forthcoming seminars are advertised on the noticeboard opposite James Field's office (by the kitchen) and announcements are sent out by email. Most take place in the CVSSP seminar room (40b-AB-05), unless otherwise stated.
